David Rose’s emotional journey on Schitt’s Creek has encompassed his relationships as well.

Sebastien, ugh.
This guy embodies all that David’s life was all about before relocating to Schitt’s Creek. He’s a cunning manipulator and sleazy charmer; he even attempted to trick Moira into an awkward photo session.
Fortunately, Sebastian (who, incidentally, was the longest relationship David had before Patrick) sees him as a completely different person. He chastises him, and in the process, they become closer.
3. Jake
Jakey, oh!
Before David discovered he was unintentionally in a throuple with Stevie, everything was going great. Awkward, huh! At that dinner, it all came to a climax when Jake made the decision for all three of them to form a single relationship.
To be honest, I never liked Jake. Not even at first. He was a really smooth talker, kind of like Sebastian. David was fortunate enough to escape that predicament in time. However, Stevie found it impossible to go.

To be honest, David and Stevie’s “relationship,” or whatever it was, ended up being a total failure. Their arrangement as friends with benefits didn’t work out, and David eventually dumped her entirely, hurting her heart. Inconsiderate!
However, the two were able to work things out in the end, and they are now formally best friends. In all honesty, their friendship seems almost predestined.
Honestly, David and Stevie’s “relationship,” or whatever it was, was a total bust. Things didn’t work out between them as friends with benefits, and David ended up entirely dumping her, which devastated her. Callous!
However, the two were able to reconcile in the end, and they are now formally declared to be best friends. Additionally, their bond truly seems fated.

Was there really any doubt, really, that David and Patrick would rank first? In many ways, the two are #RelationshipGoals.
Patrick has shown David a fresh, vulnerable side and has so much patience with his foolishness. David even exclaimed, for the first time in his life, “I love you.” Furthermore, David really is “his Mariah Carey,” as Patrick has stated. Could you possibly want more?
