Dan Levy isn’t bothered when people mistake him for his ‘Schitt’s Creek’ character, David Rose. The 40-year-old actor, who created and starred in the hit Netflix series, takes pride in the show’s impact.
Even when fans yell his famous catchphrase “Ew, David!” from passing cars, he doesn’t mind. “If you create something that sticks with people so much they forget who you are, I take that as a compliment,” he told People.
Levy also shared that he was nearly cast as a Ken doll in Greta Gerwig’s blockbuster ‘Barbie’ but had to turn down the role due to scheduling conflicts. He admitted that missing out on being part of the billion-dollar comedy haunts him.
“Greta had such a wonderfully bizarre and magical vision for the movie. I would have loved to be a part of it. It’s not easy to pass on one of the biggest movies of all time,” he said.
Currently, Levy is starring in the Netflix comedy film ‘Good Grief,’ which centers on an artist mourning the loss of his famous writer husband. He explained that the inspiration for the movie came from his own experiences being single and relying heavily on friends for support. “As someone who’s often single, your friends become the loves of your life. The friends I have are lifers. I love them dearly, and I wrote a movie about that love and how it can help us through tough times,” he explained.
